El Paso High jROTCOut of the 62 Battalions in the great state of Texas, we were the first. The El Paso High JROTC program was established in 1888 as the El Paso Cadet Guard, compiled by the District Superintendent Captain Calvin W. Esterly. When the National Defense Act of 1916 was passed, this organization was one of the first 6 units in the country as part of a new program called Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC). In honor of the first brigade, JROTC cadets today strive to be nothing but the best. http://ephstigersjrotc.weebly.com/faq.html let the tradition continue........The El Paso High School R.O.T.C. Alumni began as an idea from a group of Graduated Cadets. It did not become to pass until Rick Andrade Cadet Major Class of 1984, began to gather information about other cadets. After several calls and meetings, Finally the first group of Cadets gathered in June of 2003. The Alumni became established. It was until 2010, That the R.O.T.C. Alumni was recognized by El Paso High School Alumni through social media, and in 2014 the El Paso High R.O.T.C. Alumni began to have communication with the El Paso High School J.R.O.T.C.
